Khulna, 26 June 2025 — In a significant step towards strengthening the Bangladesh Navy’s three-dimensional capabilities, three newly built indigenous diving boats—Pankouri, Gangchil, and Machhranga—have officially been commissioned into the fleet. The commissioning ceremony, held at the Khulna Naval Berth with full naval tradition, was presided over by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan. During the event, he formally handed over command orders to the respective commanding officers and unveiled the vessels’ nameplates. A Milestone in Self-Reliance Constructed at Khulna Shipyard using entirely domestic resources and technology, the vessels are a significant milestone in Bangladesh’s drive for naval self-reliance. Their induction reflects the Navy’s increasing capacity for indigenous shipbuilding and its commitment to expanding undersea operational capabilities. Speaking at the ceremony, Admiral Hassan stated: “I am proud to witness the commissioning of three diving boats built entirely with local technology at Khulna Shipyard. This achievement highlights our self-reliance
