Biman Moves to 47-Aircraft Fleet by 2035

Reading Time: 3 minutes Dhaka aligns procurement, trade leverage, and network expansion into a long-horizon fleet modernisation programme anchored on Boeing wide-body and narrow-body platforms. Biman Bangladesh Airlines is advancing a structured fleet expansion plan targeting 47 aircraft by the 2034–35 fiscal year, marking a decisive shift towards capacity-led network growth underpinned by Boeing platforms. The roadmap was reviewed at the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism during a high-level briefing that consolidated fleet integration planning, prior procurement initiatives, and revised route economics modelling. The carrier currently operates 19 aircraft, including 14 Boeing platforms. Under the proposed configuration, Biman will induct eight Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, and four Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft as the baseline tranche of its long-term expansion architecture.
