J-10CE Operations with the Bangladesh Air Force: A Technical Assessment

Reading Time: 6 minutes The induction of the Chengdu J-10CE by the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) represents one of the most significant modernisation milestones in the service’s history. As part of Forces Goal 2030, the BAF aims to transition from legacy F-7s and MiG-29BMs to a network-enabled 4.5-generation air combat capability. With the J-10CE, Bangladesh enters a new era of multirole precision warfare, encompassing air superiority, strike, suppression of enemy air defences (SEAD), and maritime interdiction missions within a joint services architecture. This feature provides a technical analysis of the J-10CE’s operational integration into Bangladesh’s airpower construct, explores the threats and challenges it faces in the regional environment, and draws practical lessons from the 2025 India–Pakistan air warfare conflict that reshaped regional aerial doctrines.
