RAB Purchasing 163 Vehicles from Pragati Industries

Reading Time: 4 minutes The government has given policy-level approval to procure 163 vehicles for the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) through the direct purchase method, bypassing the Open Tender Method (OTM), in a move aimed at strengthening the operational mobility of the elite law enforcement force. The vehicles will be procured from Pragati Industries Limited, Bangladesh’s fully state-owned automobile manufacturer. The decision was approved at a meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Economic Affairs held at the Secretariat on Tuesday, chaired by Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed. The approved procurement includes three jeeps, 100 patrol pickup trucks and 60 air-conditioned microbuses under the project titled “Enhancement of Operational Capability of RAB Forces (1st Revised)”.
