Reading Time: < 1 minute The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has further reinforced its border surveillance posture in Lalmonirhat with the inauguration of the new ‘Chaturbari Border Outpost (BOP)’ under the Teesta Battalion in Jongra Union, Patgram Upazila. The outpost, established to enhance monitoring along the frontier, aims to curb smuggling, deter illegal infiltration, and bolster the overall security architecture in this strategically important northern sector. With the Teesta Basin remaining a sensitive area for cross-border movement and transboundary crime, the addition of the Chaturbari BOP marks a significant step in tightening operational control. The facility was formally inaugurated today by Brigadier General ASM Nasher, Commander of the BGB’s North West Region. Speaking at the ceremony, he reaffirmed BGB’s commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders, describing the force as “a symbol of trust and security”. He reiterated that BGB personnel would continue to discharge their duties with the same resolve
