Bangladesh Air Force to Integrate Indonesian-Made EFD-5.5 Avionics on C-130 Fleet

Reading Time: 5 minutes The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) has taken another step towards diversifying its defence procurement sources following the signing of a contract with Indonesia’s PT Infoglobal Teknologi Semesta on 11 June for the supply of six Electronic Flight Display 5.5 (EFD-5.5) avionics units. The agreement marks the first known acquisition of Indonesian-manufactured avionics by the BAF and follows Infoglobal’s successful export of the system to Malaysia. The EFD-5.5 is a compact digital flight display designed to replace conventional analogue cockpit instruments. Functioning as an Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS), the display consolidates critical flight information onto a single digital screen, providing pilots with enhanced situational awareness while reducing cockpit workload. Depending on aircraft configuration, the system can present attitude, airspeed, altitude, vertical speed, heading, navigation and engine-related data in an integrated format.
