What followed was a tense overnight standoff. Acting on intelligence, Bangladesh’s Border Guard (BGB) rushed to the scene, joined by alarmed villagers armed with sticks and resolve. Their collective vigilance reportedly foiled a push-in of over 750 individuals, many of whom had been held at makeshift camps along the border for weeks. “This was not an isolated incident,” a BGB officer told Al Jazeera under condition of anonymity. “There have been at least seven confirmed push-in attempts in just the first half of May.” A Coordinated Pattern
