Bangladesh Army ORBAT
Reading Time: 3 minutes The Bangladesh Army, the principal land warfare branch of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, is structured and organised to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation while also contributing to international peacekeeping operations. Its Order of Battle (ORBAT) reflects a balanced combination of manoeuvre formations, combat support, and combat service support units, allowing the Army to operate across diverse terrains ranging from riverine and deltaic environments to jungle and urban settings. At the core of the Army’s structure are its infantry, armoured, and artillery formations, which are complemented by specialised forces in engineering, signals, aviation, logistics, and air defence. The Army’s operational command is divided into several divisions distributed under area commands, ensuring comprehensive geographic coverage and rapid deployment capability.
