Bangladesh Air Force Engages Leonardo at Dubai Airshow 2025, Reaffirms Major Procurement Plans
Reading Time: 3 minutes Air Chief Marshal Mahmood Khan, Chief of Air Staff of the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF), held a high-level meeting with senior representatives of Leonardo S.p.A. on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2025, reaffirming Bangladesh’s growing defence and industrial ties with Italy. The discussions centred on the BAF’s ongoing modernisation efforts and its intent to strengthen multi-domain capabilities through advanced aircraft, rotary-wing platforms, unmanned systems, and enhanced air-surveillance infrastructure. Leonardo already maintains a significant footprint in the Bangladesh Air Force, providing both air surveillance systems and rotary-wing aircraft. Among the radar systems in service, the KRONOS LAND mobile 3D AESA radar delivers flexible airspace monitoring, rapid deployment, and precise target tracking. Alongside this, the RAT-31DL long-range solid-state 3D surveillance radar offers fixed early-warning coverage and strengthens the BAF’s air defence network. These systems are complemented by comprehensive training and maintenance support, ensuring sustained operational readiness. In
