Russian Navy Warship Arrives in Bangladesh on Courtesy Visit

Reading Time: < 1 minute The Russian Navy warship Gremyashchy arrived at Chattogram Port today, Monday, 17 November 2025, for a five-day courtesy visit to Bangladesh. The ship was warmly received by the Commander of the Chattogram Naval Area, represented by the Chief Staff Officer, who welcomed the officers and sailors aboard. In keeping with naval tradition, the Bangladesh Navy’s well-trained band performed a ceremonial welcome. Russian military attachés based in Bangladesh and senior local naval officials were also present to greet the visiting delegation. As the ship entered Bangladesh’s maritime waters, the Bangladesh Navy vessel BNS Omar Faruq conducted a formal reception to mark its arrival. During the visit, the commanding officer of Gremyashchy, along with the Russian military attachés, will hold courtesy meetings with the Commander of the Chattogram Naval Area, Commander of the Bangladesh Navy Fleet, the Area Superintendent of the Dockyard, and the Chairman of Chattogram
