Reading Time: 3 minutes Bangladesh Air Force inducts Thales Ground Master 403M radars to strengthen national air surveillance network. Dhaka, 16 April 2025 — The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) has formally inducted two units of the Thales Ground Master 403 Alpha (Mobile) (GM403M – Mobile variant) air surveillance radar system into its integrated air defence network, marking a major leap forward in the enhancement of the country’s airspace monitoring and control capabilities. One of the newly commissioned GM403M radars has been deployed to 71 Squadron (Radar Unit), based at Mirpur, Dhaka, and is now operational under the Air Defence Command (ADC). The second unit’s location is in Bogura, and is expected to reinforce coverage of Bangladesh’s central/western regions airspace. The successful induction of these advanced military radar systems also serves to strengthen the defence relations between Bangladesh and France.
