J-10CE Multirole Combat Aircraft

Reading Time: 4 minutes The Chengdu J-10CE is the export variant of the J-10C 4.5-generation multirole fighter, produced by Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group (CAIG) under the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). It is equipped with an AESA radar, advanced electronic warfare suite, infrared search and track (IRST), and compatibility with modern PL-series air-to-air missiles. Offering a balanced combination of performance, agility and affordability, the J-10CE is marketed to international customers as a cost-effective solution bridging the gap between fourth-generation and fifth-generation combat aircraft. The J-10CE is China’s modern single-engine fighter optimised for export, integrating AESA radar, IRST and precision-guided munitions — offering strong BVR performance and affordability for regional air forces. Design and Development The J-10CE stems from the J-10C programme initiated in the late 2000s to modernise the J-10A/B series. Developed by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation, the J-10C first entered service with the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF)
