Indian BSF Member Captured After Trespassing into Bangladesh

Reading Time: 3 minutes On the morning of 4 June 2025 at approximately 0700 hours local time, a serving member of India’s Border Security Force (BSF), reportedly identified as Sri Ganesh from the Noorpur BSF camp, was apprehended by Bangladeshi civilians after trespassing across the international boundary into Bangladesh. The incident occurred in the Zahurpur area of Narayanpur Union, Chapainawabganj District, an area long known for frontier tension. According to local residents, confirmed by the Union Parishad Chairman, the BSF soldier had crossed into Bangladeshi territory while chasing cattle herders who were tending livestock well within the country’s borders.
