BGB Enhances Border Security with New Chutipur BOP Inauguration

Reading Time: 2 minutes The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has formally inaugurated a new Border Outpost (BOP) at Chutipur, Satkhira on 1 June 2025. The new BOP falls under the jurisdiction of the Nildumur Battalion (17 BGB), and is part of an intensified effort to bolster operational readiness and reinforce the country’s western frontier security architecture. The inauguration ceremony, held in the morning hours of 1 June 2025, was presided over by Brigadier General Md. Humayun Kabir, PSC, Regional Commander of the Jessore Region. The event marked the official commissioning of the strategically located BOP, aimed at enhancing BGB’s capacity to combat cross-border criminal activities including smuggling, unauthorised movement, and other transnational threats.
