Falco EVO Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
Reading Time: 2 minutes The Falco EVO is a tactical medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) UAV platform designed by Leonardo for multi-role ISR and light combat applications. A step forward from the original Falco, the EVO variant offers increased endurance, payload flexibility, and modern mission systems integration. Its modular design and adaptable airframe have made it a platform of choice for several armed forces looking to bridge the gap between traditional ISR drones and precision-strike UCAVs. In the Bangladesh context, the Falco EVO is not merely a surveillance tool. The Bangladesh Air Force has indigenously modified the platform, arming it with Roketsan’s 70mm Cirit laser-guided rockets. This transforms the airframe into a capable light strike platform for counterinsurgency, anti-armour, and anti-terror operations in tactical depth. These modifications are believed to have been completed using domestic avionics and mounting systems with external consultation, positioning the BAF among the few users globally to weaponise
