Bangladesh Air Force Attains Capability to Overhaul Aerial Munitions

Reading Time: 2 minutes The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) has achieved a major technological milestone with the establishment of a domestic aerial munitions overhaul and maintenance facility, marking a new chapter in the service’s drive towards self-reliance and technical sophistication. On 12 October 2025 (Sunday), Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, BBP, OSP, GUP, nswc, psc, Chief of Air Staff, attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest. He met officers and engineers involved in the programme and formally opened the facility, praising their professionalism and technical proficiency. The facility was constructed with a transfer of technology (ToT) from China and enables the BAF to perform maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of Chinese-origin aerial munitions, including PL-series air-to-air missiles and a broader range of aerial ordnance, entirely within Bangladesh.
