Bangladesh Advances Towards Local Production of Bayraktar TB2 Drone Components

The development marks a new chapter in Bangladesh’s ongoing effort to localise advanced defence technologies while expanding its unmanned aerial capabilities under the broader Forces Goal 2030 modernisation roadmap. Local Production Initiative Gains Momentum According to sources close to the negotiations, the proposed joint venture will focus initially on producing selected TB2 subsystems such as airframe components, sensor housings, and ground control system modules within Bangladesh. The goal is to gradually transfer maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities to the local defence sector — an important step towards self-reliance in high-technology systems.
