Bangladesh Army Expands Riverine Force with 88 New Tri‑Shark Assault Boats

Reading Time: 2 minutes The Bangladesh Army has placed an order for at least 88 Tri‑Shark assault boats as part of a deliberate expansion of its riverine warfare and inland manoeuvre capabilities. The move builds on years of investment in small‑boat fleets and riverine formations intended to give the Army greater operational reach across Bangladesh’s vast inland waterways. The new boats are compact, high‑mobility craft designed for rapid insertion, patrol and riverine assault tasks. According to the specification package released to suppliers, the Tri‑Shark assault boat ordered for the Army measures approximately 5.0 m in length, 1.8 m in beam and up to 0.8 m in depth, with a maximum draft of 0.6 m.
