Awami League Operates Secret Hub from India

Reading Time: 4 minutes Investigative reports and visual footage confirm that the ruling Awami League (AL) has established a covert office in Kolkata, India, allegedly to coordinate political activities aimed at influencing domestic affairs in Bangladesh. While Indian authorities officially deny any knowledge of such operations, admissions from AL leaders in exile leave no doubt about the office’s existence and active use. The unmarked office, situated on the eighth floor of a commercial building on the outskirts of Kolkata, reportedly spans 500–600 square feet and is deliberately devoid of political symbols. Senior and mid-level AL figures, including former ministers, members of parliament, and district-level leaders who relocated following the August 2024 uprising, regularly use the office. The office is reportedly used to co-ordinate activities via digital platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and livestreams featuring party leadership. Meetings of 30–35 people are held regularly, with larger gatherings arranged at nearby venues.
