Bangladesh Navy Strengthens Maritime and Air-Defence Power with Multiple New Platforms

Reading Time: 2 minutes The Bangladesh Navy has officially inducted two Leonardo AW109 naval utility helicopters and two Schiebel S-100 CAMCOPTER unmanned aerial vehicle systems, marking yet another milestone in its long-term modernisation drive. The announcement was made by the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan, OSP, NPP, during the closing ceremony of the Fresher Sailors Course (Batch 2025/B) earlier yesterday. The Admiral outlined a series of recently completed and ongoing acquisitions that collectively enhance the Navy’s operational capabilities across maritime aviation, unmanned systems, shipbuilding, hydrographic research and air defence.
