Bangladesh Army Takes Delivery of 18 More Otokar Cobra-I LAVs from Türkiye

Reading Time: 2 minutes The Bangladesh Army has received a new consignment Otokar Cobra-I Light Armoured Vehicles (LAVs) from Türkiye, marking another step in the ongoing modernisation of its protected mobility fleet. The latest batch includes variants configured as Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), Command and Control Vehicles, Electronic Warfare/Jammer Vehicles, and Recovery Vehicles totalling to 25 units including 18 APCs. Continued Procurement of a Proven Platform The Otokar Cobra-I has been in service with the Bangladesh Army since the early 2010s, having proved its versatility and reliability across various operational scenarios from counter-insurgency to peacekeeping operations. This new delivery supplements the earlier fleet, which already includes several configurations of the Cobra-I and its successor, the Cobra-II. Over the past decade, the Cobra-I has served primarily in internal security roles, border security, and UN peacekeeping missions.
