Bangladesh Army Expands Anti-Tank Capability

Reading Time: 4 minutes Modernised Infantry Firepower, Precision Rockets and Enhanced Deterrence Posture The Bangladesh Army is undergoing a significant modernisation of its infantry anti-armour capability, marked by new acquisitions, expanded inventories and strengthened industrial capacity. Recent orders for 10,000 RPG rounds, the acquisition of more Alcotán-100 M2 system and a tender for additional launchers indicate a focused effort to improve tactical firepower across all infantry formations. Complementing these acquisitions is the establishment of a full domestic 40 mm rocket production line, including HEAT variants, ensuring sustained logistical support for future operations. The tender includes Alcotán-100 M2 anti-tank rockets and bunker-buster variants, supported by Vosel digital fire-control units. These systems have been selected to enhance precision engagement capability in environments where short-range visibility, urban complexity and varied terrain influence operational outcomes. The procurement reflects a doctrine-based approach to equipping infantry with effective armour-defeat capability across all combat zones. Indigenous Production:
