Bangladesh, China, and Pakistan Launch Trilateral Partnership

Reading Time: 4 minutes Bangladesh, China, and Pakistan have formally launched a trilateral partnership aimed at bolstering economic cooperation, regional connectivity, and diplomatic coordination. The inaugural meeting was held in the Chinese city of Kunming on 19 June 2025, hosted by China’s Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong. The dialogue was co-chaired by Mr. Ruhul Alam Siddiqui, Acting Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh; Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong of China; and Ambassador Amna Baloch, Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, who participated virtually. Ambassador Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, Additional Secretary (Asia-Pacific) at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the meeting in person on behalf of Islamabad. Inaugural Dialogue: A Foundation Laid The meeting marked the formal launch of the Bangladesh–China–Pakistan trilateral mechanism, a structured platform designed to deepen cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
