Bangladesh Army Intercepts RAW-Linked Assassination Cell in Kushtia
Reading Time: 3 minutes In a coordinated series of raids spanning two districts, the Bangladesh Army and intelligence services arrested four men in what is rapidly being seen as the country’s most high-stakes counter-intelligence success in recent memory. Among the arrested were Subrata Bain, alias Fateh Ali (60), and Abu Rasel Masud, alias Molla Masud (54)—both long considered two of the country’s most-wanted criminals and now confirmed as core operatives in a covert operation orchestrated by India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). The operation, executed without casualties or confrontation, took place in Kushtia, with follow-up arrests in Hatirjheel. Acting on intelligence provided during immediate tactical interrogation, forces apprehended Arafat, alias Shooter Arafat, and Sharif—close associates of Bain and Masud—along with a cache of weapons that included five foreign pistols, ten magazines, fifty-three rounds of live ammunition, and a satellite phone believed to be central to the team’s command and control
