The C-295W is a twin-turoboprop medium tactical transport aircraft manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space in Spain. It is used for military applications such as airlifting of troops, cargos and para-dropping.
Compared to the CN-235, the C-295W features a 50% more powerful engine and stretched fuselage. It has an endurance of 12 hours. The aircraft received certification in 2014.
In terms of size the C-295W is comparable to the ATR-72, C-27J and Ilyushin Il-112.
The Bangladesh Army is the lone user of the C-295W. The Army Aviation Group signed a deal with Airbus for one aircraft initially with deliveries expected in 2018 whilst further aircraft are expected to be procured.
