Bangladesh Navy hunts for new attack drones
Reading Time: < 1 minute The Naval Aviation wing of the Bangladesh Navy is seeking to purchase armed multirole unmanned aerial vehicles to bolster its surveillance capabilities over the Bay of Bengal and maintain a capacity to eliminate surface threats at sea or land. Buoyed by the success of the Baykar Bayraktar TB2 UAVs of the Bangladesh Army, the Navy too is going to maintain a fleet of advanced drones. Sources suggest the Bangladesh Navy is interested in the TB2 and TB3 drones. Baykar, the worlds largest drone manufacturer has been developing the TB3 drones with serial production expected by 2025. The most important characteristic of the TB3 is that it can take off and land on short runways, including on ships. It is also designed to climb higher altitudes, and carry more weapons, and stay on air for longer periods than its TB2 predecessor. The manufacturer claims the TB3
