To be direct — this belief is not accurate when assessed objectively through a modern military lens. It is based largely on historical memory, media-driven nationalism, and an overestimation of India’s current operational capabilities. In 1971, India fought under very favourable conditions: Pakistan was split geographically, and Bangladesh’s population was already in open revolt. Today, circumstances are very different.
