The National Security Intelligence, also known as the Directorate-General of National Security Intelligence is the leading civilian intelligence agency of Bangladesh, directly responsible to the office of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Organisation

The Directorate General of National Security Intelligence is headed by a Director General with the rank of Major General.

The intelligence agency maintains presence in all parts of Bangladesh particularly the major cities.

The force is mostly staffed by civilian personnel.

Duties

The main objectives of the NSI are to collect and analyse domestic intelligence information to advice the government of Bangladesh.

Training

NSI personnel undergo extensive intelligence training within country and abroad.
